Released a few years back, New York Times bestselling author Jennifer McMahon’s supernatural thriller Don’t Breathe a Word has garnered a whole lot of praise from both fans and critics alike, being called one of the scariest books in recent years. Now, it’s headed to the big screen.
Per The Tracking Board, Gold Circle Entertainment and Sam Raimi’s Ghost House Pictures have begun the search for a writer to adapt the hit novel. The project is in the very early stages of development, so all we really know for now is that it’s coming.
In Don’t Breathe a Word, two young lovers get mixed up in a supernatural web that is tied to the disappearance of a young girl 15 years ago.
Jennifer McMahon is known for writing the bestseller Island of Lost Girls, the suspense thriller Dismantled, and her breakout debut Promise Not to Tell.
