Friday the 13th Reboot Will Feature New Voorhees Origin Story

While out promoting Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, Platinum Dunes producer Brad Fuller has naturally been asked many questions about the upcoming next installment in the Friday the 13th franchise, so we must thank those ass-kicking turtles for all the Friday info they have indirectly provided us with.

Today brings another update, so read on!

Speaking with The Reel Word, Fuller teased that Aaron Guzikowski has penned a new Voorhees origin story!

“Aaron’s story has great characters… You kind of have to understand Jason Voorhees so we go back, and we kind of started over and work our way forward,” Fuller revealed. “[It’s] origin-ish, but it’s an origin that no one has seen before. Obviously Pamela’s there, but it’s a little bit different from what you’ve seen before.”

Jason is tentatively set to return on January 13, 2017.
