DVD and Blu-ray Releases: July 12, 2016

Welcome again to another release list, friends. There are 22 items dropping this week, ranging from classics to recent TV series to downright absurd sounding movies.

First up, Cat in the Brain is coming at us all the way from 1990. This will be a double Blu-ray set which comes with a CD containing the original soundtrack to the movie. This is a must-have for any fan of Fulci.

For those who enjoy the films of Alfred Hitchcock, Psycho and The Birds are getting new releases with pop art covers. They’re pretty snazzy looking.

Rounding out our classics this week is Carnival of Souls. This is a Criterion Collection DVD release, which Carnival has seen before, but not in a while so it was probably due.

The late Anton Yelchin plays one of his last roles in last year’s Green Room. I have yet to see this movie but have heard nothing but good things about it and plan to most definitely pick it up.

As for our Television selection, Season 1 of “Slasher” hits stores this week on both Blu-ray as well as DVD. Season 2 of “iZombie” also gets both formats released this week. Speaking of “iZombie,” Season 1 is finally coming to Blu-ray as well.

There are plenty of other selections below, including a documentary on the making of Creepshow and a zombie movie about MILFs. Basically this week really has something for everyone. As always, pleasant viewing.
