Beetlejuice Coming to Lego Dimensions This Fall
One of the amazing things about video games these days is that when you buy it, it’s possible that the game will grow and expand with DLC or mods. Sure, some may feel that you’re getting an incomplete title upon release, which may very well be true in some cases, but there are definitely times when a game is fantastic upon release and simply gets better as more content is released. A couple of examples are The Witcher 3 or Fallout 3, both of which are fantastic games if you play the initial product. But later DLC opened the worlds up and breathed new life into them, giving more content that added to the already rich storylines within.
The reason I bring all of this up is because Lego Dimensions is getting a new series of expansions this fall and one of them is themed around Tim Burton’s 1988 phenomenal dark comedy horror film Beetlejuice. The pack will include a minifigure that will grant players access to a new exclusive Adventure World and Battle Area. Per IGN, the pack will also include, “…Saturn’s Sandwort, which can be reconstructed into the Haunted Vacuum and Spooky Spider.”
For those who believe that Beetlejuice is a bit too adult for a game that is obviously marketed towards children, let’s not forget that there was a cartoon series that aired in the late 80’s/early 90’s where “the ghost with the most” teamed up with Lydia for wild and kooky adventures. While the images below suggest they’re going off of the movie, I think it’s playful and imaginative enough that there’s a good crossover. Plus, now parents have an excuse to introduce their kids to the movie, which is nothing short of incredible!
