In 2006 Rob Sacchetto started an online service called Zombie Portraits in which he hand-painted people as the living dead. Now, five years later, Sacchetto has laid the undead look on over 2,000 people and counting. And that’s just the beginning of this zombie artist’s resume.

Sacchetto has individuals send him a photo of themselves or a loved one, and he lays the zombie on them by hand illustrating. No computers or Photoshopping involved here, folks. Just old school paint, pen and ink. To check out the service, head over to Sacchetto’s website ZombiePortraits.com.

But wait; there’s more! For some unexplainable reason, Sacchetto felt he wasn’t drawing enough zombies. To remedy this situation he started Zombie Daily, a blog where he posts a new, original zombie drawing or painting every day. Zombie Daily was launched in 2008 and now has over 1,100 posts. Do the math, people; that’s over 3,000 zombies Sacchetto has now drawn over the past five years. And I did the research. These aren’t just stick figure drawings; Sacchetto is giving you everything he’s got every day with his artwork. For an example, check out the fine shirtless woman in the photo below.

Sacchetto has a book in print, The Zombie Handbook: How to Identify the Living Dead and Survive the Coming Zombie Apocalypse, and will be following it up with Zombiewood: The Celebrity Dead Exposed. So far Sacchetto’s zombie artwork has been featured on everything from puzzles to skateboard decks to t-shirts and comic books. He just loves the dead. Give The Official Rob Sacchetto Facebook Fan Page a like while you’re thinking of it.

Right now, if you mention Dread Central when ordering custom work, Sacchetto is offering $10 off a single portrait and $20 off a couples portrait. And you said we never gave you anything! There’s a brief trailer below to give you an idea of what Zombie Portraits is all about. Give it a look and visit Sacchetto’s websites. This guy is a true horror freak who does some incredible artwork. Check him out.
