Time for a good old fashioned dosage of alien-fueled evil in the form of some stills, a trailer, and a truly killer one-sheet from The Dude Designs in anticipation of the upcoming indie flick Almost Human. Dig it!

Channel 83 Films is proud to announce the debut of the trailer for the indie horror film Almost Human with a new poster designed by The Dude Designs (aka Tom Hodge).

Cult poster artist The Dude Designs is known for his incredible designs for such posters as Hobo with a Shotgun and The Innkeepers along with the recent DVD artwork for They Live. He supplied Almost Human with its beautiful retro artwork, giving off a vibe that harkens back to 80’s sci-fi/horror, much in line with the film itself.

The film stars Graham Skipper (Re-Animator: The Musical), Vanessa Leigh, and Josh Ethier. It is written and directed by Joe Begos and produced by Begos, Josh Ethier, and Anthony Ambrosino.

Almost Human has just completed post-production and will soon be circling the festival circuit.

Synopsis:
Mark Fisher disappeared from his home in a brilliant flash of blue light almost two years ago. His friend Seth Hampton was the last to see him alive. Now a string of grisly, violent murders leads Seth to believe that Mark is back and something evil is inside of him.

Scarred For Life
Episode 267: The Legendary John Harrison and The Haunting (1963)
This week we chat with filmmaker, producer, composer, writer, author...this guy's done it all...John Harrison. From working with George Romero on everything from Creepshow and Dawn of the Dead to Tales from the Darkside to the Dune miniseries to his Netflix series Residue...he's done it all. He even directed Tales from the Darkside: The Movie, which was Andrew LaSane's Scarred for Life pick, which is one of Terry's favorite movies. We chat about his long history in cinema; about how he started working with Romero to some insights into Tales from the Darkside. And we discuss his latest work, the novel Residue: Paramentals Rising, which is a sequel to the Netflix show. After learning about his horror history--including a memorable viewing of Night of the Living Dead--we find out why The Haunting terrified him as a twelve year old. John references an article written by Anthony McKay in Little Shoppe of Horrors, which can be ordered here.
