The Vampire Diaries Casting News: Rick Worthy Heading to Mystic Falls as Bonnie's FatherWe’ve heard him mentioned just a few times over the years, but now we’re going to meet Bonnie’s estranged father on “The Vampire Diaries” when Rick Worthy joins the cast later this season.

“It’s time!” executive producer Julie Plec told TV Guide. “This year is a big year of transitions. It’s the end of senior year, and there’s a rich home life for everybody we’re going to explore.”

Worthy will appear in the tenth episode as Rudy Hopkins, who, after years of distance, will suddenly make an attempt to protect Bonnie (Kat Graham) from the dangers in Mystic Falls. The actor has previously appeared on “Supernatural,” “Heroes,” and “Battlestar Galactica.”
