The first paparazzi images of Rutger Hauer as the character of “Macklyn” on the set of HBO’s now filming sixth season of the vampire-driven hit “True Blood” have arrived! Check ’em out and be envious of his hair. Phil Spector wept.

The actor signed on to join the show last October, and the only thing we know about his character is that he’s said to have close ties to both Sookie and Jason Stackhouse. Usually that would mean that he’s destined to die horribly, but we’ll see.
