Good news for fans of “American Horror Story”! According to Ryan Murphy on Twitter, Oscar nominee Gabourey Sidibe (Precious) has signed on for active duty for the show’s third season, which has been dubbed “American Horror Story: Coven.”
The news came this morning when Murphy tweeted, “Thrilled to announce Oscar nominee Gabourey Sidibe is joining the cast of ‘American Horror Story: Coven’.”
Sidibe will be joining the previously announced Frances Conroy, Taissa Farmiga, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, Kathy Bates, and Jessica Lange, who won an Emmy for her Season 1 performance.
Series co-creator Ryan Murphy announced at the recent Paley Fest that Season 3 of “American Horror Story” will be subtitled “Coven.” “It’s a really cool story that we’ve been talking for a couple years, and this seemed to be the year to do it,” he said, noting the series will shoot in multiple locations, one of which is New Orleans — the first time the series has exited its soundstage filming location.
