Move over, Dinoshark! Here’s comes the new king of prehistoric sea monsters: Poseidon Rex – a humongous, hungry oceanic T-Rex with an appetite for swimmers, boaters, tourists, treasure hunters, and former “Charmed” supporting actors.
From Syfy super scribe Rafael Jordan and Mark L. Lester, the director of Firestarter, Commando, Showdown in Little Tokyo, and Class of 1999, comes the new aquatic monster movie Poseidon Rex!
Synopsis:
A small, secluded island in the Caribbean suddenly finds itself terrorized by a deadly predator from the planet’s distant past when deep sea divers accidentally awaken an ancient evil. Jackson Slate and his team of underwater cave explorers unearth much more than long-lost Mayan treasure while plumbing the depths of a world famous blue hole. They disturb a creature that’s been hibernating for over 100,000 years — POSEIDON REX — a rampaging behemoth of death and destruction not only at sea but also on land. As a devastating tropical storm descends upon the island, Jackson and the surviving members of the island community must try to stay alive long enough for help to arrive. When they learn the military intends to bomb the creature and the island into the next century, they realize their only hope is to make it to the mainland… even if that means going back in the water.
The trailer delivers exactly what you would expect from a most assuredly Syfy-bound flick that stars ex-“Charmed” co-star Brian Krause as a treasure diver mixed up with bad guys and gigantic Tyranno-like dinosaurs.
By the way, for those of you that watch Syfy Original movies, you’re going to have set aside a new day of the week. The Syfy Saturday night movie is moving to Thursdays starting next month as the network tries rolling out new scripted series that night of the week.
