Matt Barr - Two More New Roles Cast in Sleepy Hollow Season 2We’re counting the days until “Sleepy Hollow” returns to Fox in the fall, and to help fill the time, we have news on two new characters who are joining the show during its sophomore season. Read on to learn whom Matt Barr and Sakina Jaffrey will be portraying.

First, per TVLine, Matt Barr (pictured right; “Hellcats,” “One Tree Hill,” “Friday Night Lights,” “Harper’s Island”) has been cast as Nick Hawley, a “ruggedly handsome” bounty hunter who’ll assist Ichabod (Tom Mison) and Abbie (Nicole Beharie).

The “adventurous” Mr. Hawley is described as having a sense of humor and a bit of swagger, but he’s also a loner whose education is masked by a rough-and-tumble demeanor.

Sakina Jaffrey - Two More New Roles Cast in Sleepy Hollow Season 2Next, E! Online reports that “House of Cards” star Sakina Jaffrey (pictured left) will take on the recurring guest gig of Leena Reyes, Sleepy Hollow’s new sheriff, who is smart, forceful, highly trained, and commanding. But Leena also has a warm and maternal side.

After working for the U.S. Border Patrol in Texas, Leena is returning to Sleepy Hollow to fill the recently vacated Sheriff’s position (you may recall that Orlando Jones’ Sheriff Irving ended up behind bars as Season 1 concluded).

The “Sleepy Hollow” producers are currently preparing for a total of 18 episodes in Season 2, which will have a war theme.

Scarred For Life
Episode 267: The Legendary John Harrison and The Haunting (1963)
This week we chat with filmmaker, producer, composer, writer, author...this guy's done it all...John Harrison. From working with George Romero on everything from Creepshow and Dawn of the Dead to Tales from the Darkside to the Dune miniseries to his Netflix series Residue...he's done it all. He even directed Tales from the Darkside: The Movie, which was Andrew LaSane's Scarred for Life pick, which is one of Terry's favorite movies. We chat about his long history in cinema; about how he started working with Romero to some insights into Tales from the Darkside. And we discuss his latest work, the novel Residue: Paramentals Rising, which is a sequel to the Netflix show. After learning about his horror history--including a memorable viewing of Night of the Living Dead--we find out why The Haunting terrified him as a twelve year old. John references an article written by Anthony McKay in Little Shoppe of Horrors, which can be ordered here.
