With a start date for Machete Kills drawing closer and closer, it was only a matter of time before the casting news started rolling in, and it’s starting with some regulars.

According to Bloody Disgusting the early word has come that both Jessica Alba and Michelle Rodriguez, who played Agent Sartana and Luz/She in the first film, are in talks to appear in the second film to either reprise their characters or … well, who knows? Never underestimate the mad genius that is Robert Rodriguez!

We here at Dread Central would like to personally request Lindsay Lohan return as the gunslinging sex nun.

Machete Kills is a Quick Draw Production, produced by Rodriguez, Alexander Rodnyansky, Quick Draw’s Aaron Kaufman and Iliana Nikolic, Sergei Bespalov, and Rick Schwartz. A script has been written by Kyle Ward and developed by Rodriguez and Marcel Rodriguez.

The new film finds Machete (Danny Trejo) recruited by the U.S. Government for a mission which would be impossible for any mortal man. Machete must battle his way through Mexico to take down a madman cartel leader and an eccentric billionaire arms dealer who has hatched a plan to spread war across the planet with a weapon in space. Machete takes on an army in an effort to dismantle a plan for global anarchy.

He even directed Tales from the Darkside: The Movie, which was Andrew LaSane's Scarred for Life pick, which is one of Terry's favorite movies. We chat about his long history in cinema; about how he started working with Romero to some insights into Tales from the Darkside. And we discuss his latest work, the novel Residue: Paramentals Rising, which is a sequel to the Netflix show. After learning about his horror history--including a memorable viewing of Night of the Living Dead--we find out why The Haunting terrified him as a twelve year old.
