Dive Into the New Artwork and Trailer for The Midnight SwimHaving its world premiere at the 2014 Fantasia Film Festival is writer/director Sarah Adina Smith’s The Midnight Swim, and we have a look at the flick’s new artwork and trailer right here!

The Midnight Swim stars Lindsay Burdge, Jennifer Lafleur, Aleksa Palladino, and Ross Partridge.

If you’re attending Fantasia, the screening is taking place Sunday, July 27, 2014, at 7:30 PM in DB Clarke Theatre.

Synopsis:
When their mother goes missing in Spirit Lake, three half-sisters travel home to settle her affairs. The youngest sister, June (Lindsay Burge), a documentary filmmaker, captures their bittersweet homecoming. But when the sisters jokingly summon a local ghost, their relationship begins to unravel and they find themselves drawn deeper and deeper into the true mystery of the lake.

Transporting its audience to a place drenched in the supernatural, THE MIDNIGHT SWIM is an eerie, atmospheric exploration of the inexplicable pull towards the unknown. In her first feature, Sarah Adina Smith has created a world that is reminiscent of Picnic at Hanging Rock, subverting the obvious genre tropes in favor of a touching tale of three women struggling to say goodbye.

Directed and written by Sarah Adina Smith, The Midnight Swim‘s producers are Mary Pat Bentel and Jonako Donley with executive producers Jennifer Wilson, Samuel T. Bauer, and Steve Pearson. The director of photography is Shaheen Seth, and soundscape is by Ellen Reid.
