Live-In Fear - First Trailer and ArtworkIt’s been well over a year since last we heard anything about the indie feature Live-In Fear, but that’s about to change right now as we have the trailer, the artwork, and even some premiere news for you cats to chew on! Dig it!

From the Press Release
Producers Brandon Scullion and Maria Olsen are proud to announce the world premiere of Live-In Fear at the United Film Festival on September 5, 2014.

LIVE-IN FEAR stars Sarah Greyson, Arielle Brachfeld, David Lautman, and Chris Dorman and is Las Vegas native Brandon Scullion’s first feature film as a writer/director. Deeply rooted in mystery and shot on a budget of only $5,000 in Brian Head, UT, the film holds true to the DIY tradition of low-budget filmmaking – only using resources readily available to the filmmakers to capture truly disturbing and graphic imagery. It is sure to lurk in one’s minds for weeks after viewing.

Live-In Fear will have its world premiere at the United Film Festival on Friday, September 5th, at 9:30 pm PT in Los Angeles, CA. Tickets are available for purchase here.

“And to think I only started Live-In Fear as a ‘practice film.’ It turned into something much grander, and I couldn’t be more proud. I’m very excited for everyone to see it and so happy and grateful to be having the world premiere at the United Film Festival!” –Brandon Scullion, Writer/Director

“Co-producing Live-In Fear was a wonderful adventure – I learned SO much! – and it’s absolutely amazing to see how the project has developed and grown since we started our shoot one frosty morning in Utah so many months ago. Brandon Scullion and the entire cast and crew are just so incredibly talented! I anticipate seeing great things from them in future and can’t wait to work with them again.” –Maria Olsen, Producer, MOnsterworks66

Synopsis:
On February 28, 2002, four emotionally distant friends traveled to a remote condo in the snowcapped Utah Mountains for what was supposed to be a time for them to come together and mend their relationships. On the ride up Seth suspiciously proclaims that his mother has died from unknown causes, but he conveniently leaves out the part where he is being haunted by increasingly disturbing visions of her. On arrival the four friends start to lash out at each other and end up only driving themselves further apart as a destructive cult hell-bent on resurrecting an ancient cosmic god emerges to torment them.

Episode 266: Opus Writer/Director Mark Anthony Green and Michael Jackson's Thriller (1983)
This week we were unbelievably excited to chat with writer and director Mark Anthony Green! We talk about his feature film debut Opus, working with musical icons The-Dream and Nile Rodgers, Ayo Edebiri's star power and the eccentricities (and graciousness) of John Malkovich. Mark Anthony shares a fantastic story of John on set and so much more before we dig a bit into his horror history and find out why Michael Jackson's Thriller music video scared him as a kid. A shorter episode this week, but easily one of our favorite conversations in a long while. Don't miss it. And go see Opus in theaters!Follow Mary Beth, Terry and the Podcast on Bluesky. Ep. 347 Smile 2: “The Tale of Schmorgashbords, Part 1”
Ket tells Kim about the highly requested and truly terrifying Smile 2. This left Ketryn truly shooketh and gave The Substance a run for its money in grotesque-ness. It was simply a smorgasbord of gore and the first time in podcast history that Ket is the one who can’t quite say a word. Stay tuned for part 2 to find out what type of pants Kim needs for this one.Writer/Dir. Episode 268: Mind Body Spirit Filmmkers Alex Henes and Matt Merenda and The Brave Little Toaster (1987)
This week we're joined by Alex Henes and Matt Merenda, the filmmakers behind the yoga-horror found footage film Mind Body Spirit, which is available on demand and streaming on Shudder and AMC+. We chat about Sarah J. Bartholomew's fantastic performance, the script and more before diving into their childhoods and their very different reactions to horror as a kid. Then we chat about The Brave Little Toaster and how it destroyed all four of our childhoods. Anthropomorphic appliances, self-cannibalism, religion...this movie has it all and we laugh our way through describing just how messed up it actually is.
