Today is, of course, Cinco de Mayo; and to help get you in a celebratory mood, El Rey Network and Miramax are running a marathon of the first season of “From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series” that begins at dusk (6 PM ET) and concludes at dawn tomorrow, May 6th (4 AM ET).  But that’s just the beginning of the fiesta…

They’ve also given us five (5) signed Season One DVDs plus the soundtrack and poster to give away to some lucky Dread Central readers. To enter for your chance to win, just send an email to contests@dreadcentral.com including your FULL NAME AND MAILING ADDRESS. We’ll take care of the rest.

This contest is only open to US residents and will end on May 12, 2015, at 12:01 AM PT.

The rock-infused Season One soundtrack from series creator Robert Rodriguez’s band, CHINGON Music (Kill Bill Volume 2, Once Upon a Time in Mexico), includes a bonus Spanish version of “After Dark,” the Tito & Tarantula track made infamous by the iconic snake dance scene in the 1995 film.

In addition to the special Spanish version of “After Dark,” the soundtrack features selections of the original score from the show’s first season by Carl Thiel (Last Man Standing, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, Spy Kids 4) and songs by Rodriguez’s CHINGON (Machete) as they appeared in the series, including the never-before-released CHINGON version of “Hey Baby Que Pasó” and other reimagined classics like Jose Alfredo Sandoval’s “El Rey” as well as the original “Cuka Rocka,” composed by Rodriguez, Rick del Castillo, and Mark del Castillo. The album is available now on both Amazon and iTunes.

Season Two of “From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series” is currently in production in Austin, TX, and set to return late summer, 2015. If you live in the area or are planning to be there in June, you can catch the world premiere of Episode 2.01 at the ATX Television Festival, which will be back in Austin for its fourth year from June 4-7, 2015.

It explores a new chapter in this supernatural crime saga that travels from Mexico to the edgy, tricked-out Texas of Robert Rodriguez. It also deepens and complicates the core relationships between the characters, while adding new faces and new dynamics. Season Two begins with our characters in their separate worlds – Santánico and Richie are outside Houston, living like Bonnie and Clyde; Seth and Kate are scraping by South of the Border; and Freddie Gonzalez is protecting his wife and young daughter in a Houston suburb. And Carlos Madrigal and Scott Fuller emerge from the Titty Twister, changed men. They will all come together once again – this time facing off against an even bigger threat.

The Season 2 cast includes D.J. Cotrona; Zane Holtz; Jesse Garcia; Eiza González; Wilmer Valderrama; Madison Davenport; Brandon Soo Hoo; Jake Busey; and recent cast additions Danny Trejo, Esai Morales, Jeff Fahey, and Briana Evigan.

“From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series” is a Miramax production in association with Rodriguez International Pictures, FactoryMade Ventures, and Sugarcane Entertainment. Executive producers are Robert Rodriguez, Carlos Coto (also showrunner), Diego Gutierrez (also writer), FactoryMade Ventures and El Rey Network co-founders John Fogelman and Cristina Patwa, and Miramax’s Zanne Devine and Daniel Pipski.

Miramax is distributing “From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series” internationally in all territories.

Ep. 347 Smile 2: “The Tale of Schmorgashbords, Part 1”
Ket tells Kim about the highly requested and truly terrifying Smile 2. This left Ketryn truly shooketh and gave The Substance a run for its money in grotesque-ness. It was simply a smorgasbord of gore and the first time in podcast history that Ket is the one who can’t quite say a word. Stay tuned for part 2 to find out what type of pants Kim needs for this one.Writer/Dir.
