Dread’s Best 2022 Releases To Watch While Ringing In The New Year

Midnight Dread

We’re all languishing in that strange liminal space between Christmas and New Year’s. Full of leftovers and lingering holiday dread, I feel like we spend this week just floating through time. Part of floating includes spending those holiday checks and gift cards. As horror fans, we covet physical media, which is why we’re offering 25% off all Dread Blu-rays with code EPHOLIDAY! To help you decide how to spend that well-earned cash, we’ve put together a little guide to some of our 2022 film releases to add to your shelf.

Midnight

This Dread release caught the attention of Korean horror fans, and with good reason. In the film, a serial killer (Squid Game star Wi Ha-Jun) ruthlessly hunts down a deaf woman through the streets of South Korea after she witnesses his brutal crime. Lovers of Korean serial killer thrillers need to check this one out.

Tiny Cinema

This one is for the anthology film lovers out there. Also, if you just love Weird with a capital W, this is the Dread movie for you. In Tiny Cinema, a mysterious stranger tells the twisted tale of seemingly unconnected strangers whose lives will change in incredible and bizarre ways forever. As reality unravels, each person must battle incredible challenges from a multiverse seeking answers to the essential questions of life, death, love, and the fate of our future.

Watch our interview with director Tyler Cornack:

Among The Living

Director Rob Worsey is changing how we see zombies. Stranded in the aftermath of a deadly outbreak, a brother fights to protect his sister while he desperately searches to find refuge and avoid an infected population with a thirst for blood.

Watch our interview with Worsey:

Tin Can

Vintage sci-fi vibes and Michael Ironside? Sign us up, obviously. As the world faces a deadly plague, humanity’s hope for a cure lies with a scientist who awakens imprisoned in a metal chamber. She desperately works to escape her confined cell to save the last of humanity.

Watch our interview with director Seth A. Smith:

Ditched

Gorehounds will be especially excited to watch this Dread release where blood spurts from every orifice. Desperate to escape an overturned ambulance, a group of paramedics are trapped with violent prisoners. The group quickly discovers that they are the victims of an ambush with the perpetrators hunting them down one by one.
