DAYZ Comes to Xbox One

The multiplayer survival horror game DayZ has officially come to Xbox One. The battle royale experience launched today and there will be free platform updates scheduled throughout the rest of 2019. These updates will include new weapons and vehicles and will “…go more in-depth with some of the existing gameplay concepts.”

Originally launched as a Steam Early Access title in December 2013, DayZ has gone through countless updates and overhauls, earning respect from players who have stuck through since the beginning.

The game was part of Xbox Game Preview, where nearly half a million players offered valuable insight on how to improve the game, including “…controls, inventory management and performance.”

The post-soviet country of Chernarus is struck by an unknown virus, turning the majority population into frenzied infected. Fighting over resources has bred a hostile mentality among survivors, driving what’s left of humanity to collapse. You are one of the few immune to the virus – how far will you go to survive?
