Original RESIDENT EVIL and SILENT HILL Openings Get HD Remasters
The Resident Evil and Silent Hill series are widely credited as being the foundations of the “survivor horror” genre. While the former undoubtedly kicked it off, the latter certainly had its own strong influence on countless titles to come. Both have devoted followings and both are still widely regarded as two of the very best video game franchises in the horror genre, potentially beyond!
YouTube channel Marcelus Castle Rain has recently uploaded the intros to both of these games with one new and exciting difference: they’re remastered via AI Machine Learning into HD. Resident Evil‘s opening is in 4K while Silent Hill‘s is in 1080p, which is still a vast improvement when comparing it to the resolution I saw when watching it on my old tube TV.
You can watch Resident Evil‘s above and the opening to Silent Hill, along with remastered cut scenes, below.
Cheers to our pals RelyOnHorror for the heads up!
