‘Grummy’ Directors Talk Confronting Difficult Topics Through The World of Fantasy

Grummy

Fantasy is a genre of escapism, a way for us to leave our daily lives for a while and immerse ourselves in another world. Fantasy can also help us escape from our traumas if only for a few hours and inhabit a safe place where we have control. Such was the case for Micheline Pitt, who used fantasy as a child to escape her own reality. Now, she’s channeled her past into the new short film, Grummy, which addresses the prevalent issue of sexual abuse of children. We sat down with directors Pitt and her husband R.H. Norman to talk about their film, tackling difficult subject matter, and the utter talent of Violet McGraw.
