‘Orphan: First Kill’ Director William Brent Bell A Massive Fan Of The Original

Esther the murderous “child” is back in the upcoming prequel Orphan: First Kill. The first film, released in 2009, is a camp classic about is about an American family who adopts a young girl and slowly discovers she’s actually an adult.
Now, we’re in on Esther’s secret and we watch as she escapes an institution and impersonates a young girl kidnapped from a rich American family. Director William Brent Bell (Stay Alive, The Boy) tackled this new film, starring Julia Stiles and a returning Isabelle Fuhrman, with the same camp sensibility. And it couldn’t be more fun.
Dread Central spoke with Bell about approaching the prequel as a fan, the possibility of Stay Alive 2, and more.
