‘A Lot Of Nothing’ Director and Actor On Subverting Viewer Expectations [Watch]
Many of us know Mo McRae (The Flight Attendant and Sons of Anarchy) as an actor. His resume has seen him appear in so many different shows in so many different genres. So, it was anybody’s guess what his directorial feature debut would be about. Turns out McRae’s film, A Lot Of Nothing, is a complex film that defies genre. A film none of us could’ve predicted.
In A Lot Of Nothing:
James and Vanessa seem to be the perfect couple – happily married, successful, and comfortable. One night, their lives are rocked to the core when, after watching a tragedy play out on the evening news, they realize their neighbor was involved. In a state of shock, and with opposing viewpoints on how to address the issue, they embark on a highly combustible journey to ‘do something’ about it.
A Lot Of Nothing also brings together quite a few familiar faces. We sat down with McRae and one of the stars of the film, Justin Hartley (This Is Us). We talked about how the movie, the filmmaking process, what it was like for Hartley to play a completely different character than what fans are used to, and so much more.
