‘Living With Chucky’ Director Kyra Gardner On Exploring Her Personal Connection To The Killer Doll [Watch]
Not many people have a childhood like Kyra Elise Gardner. The daughter of legendary special effects artist Tony Gardner, she grew up surrounded by guts, gore, and the infamous redhead doll from hell: Chucky. After spending her childhood in this world, Kyra Gardner used those experiences in her feature-length documentary Living With Chucky.
Both a personal journey and a document about the iconic film series, Living With Chucky looks back at the groundbreaking horror franchise by those there from the beginning. The film “details the history of the Child’s Play films by the cast and crew, in addition to Gardner’s own relationship with the series and the impact it had on her family. Gardner, who grew up alongside Chucky the killer doll, seeks out other families involved with the Child’s Play films as they recount their experiences working on the franchise and what it means to be a part of the “Chucky” family.”
Dread Central spoke with Kyra Gardner about her new documentary, filming with Child’s Play icons, and more.
Living With Chucky is available now on Screambox.
