‘The Nun II’ Director Michael Chaves On Bringing Valak Back To Life
Michael Chaves has become a staple to The Conjuring Cinematic Universe, directing The Curse of La Llorona, The Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It, and, most recently, The Nun II. He’s had the unique opportunity to really dig into what’s so terrifying about this franchise and with The Nun II, he’s able to show that off (plus he had a script from the incredible Akela Cooper to work from). Following the camp journey of The Nun, Chaves works to make Valak more terrifying than ever before.
In the film, “1956 – France. A priest is murdered. An evil is spreading. The sequel to the worldwide smash hit follows Sister Irene as she once again comes face-to-face with Valak, the demon nun.”
Dread Central spoke with Chaves about finding the perfect locations, the allure of religious horror, and more.
