bring her back

Twin brothers Danny and Michael Philippou terrified the masses with their shocking feature film debut Talk To Me, a fascinating and disturbing take on the possession genre. Now, they’re back with a new vision of terror: Bring Me Back. Today, A24 has released the first trailer and poster, which promises yet another upsetting dive into grief and the dead.

The official synopsis simply reads, “A brother and sister uncover a terrifying ritual at the secluded home of their new foster mother.

Now watch the first trailer and get ready to feel uncomfortable:

The Philippous know how to craft a disturbing image and from the trailer for Bring Her Back, they’ve only further honed that craft. Plus, it looks like we’ll be getting some found footage moments and as Dread Central’s found footage freak, I simply cannot wait.

Sally Hawkins stars in the film alongside new faces Billy BarrattSora Wong, and Jonah Wren Phillips.

In his review of their previous film Talk To Me, Dread Central’s Josh Korngut wrote,

Talk To Me would stand tall among the Blumhouse collection of modern classics if given the opportunity. It’s a fast-paced, terrifying, and always fun vision of supernatural madness. There’s also a strong sense of confidence and identity in the filmmaking here; it never overthinks or pretends to be what it’s not. And why should it? A freshly grotesque ghost story that provides jaded horror fans with a slew of real scares is all I could ever ask for.”

Bring Her Back comes to theaters everywhere on May 30, 2025, from A24.
