Rest in Peace: Stanley Weston
It’s a sad day for the world’s inner child as one of the great pioneers of pop culture has passed on. The name Stanley Weston may not jump straight out at you, but if it weren’t for him, all of our childhoods would have been a LOT duller.
Weston was the creator of what’s come to be known as the action figure. His work included the much beloved G.I. Joe and Thundercats. According to THR his daughter, Cindy Winebaum, made the announcement. He was 84.
We here at Dread Central would like to take this time to extend our deepest of sympathies to Weston’s family, friends, and constituents. Oh, the impact you have had, sir. Thanks for helping millions of children worldwide dare to dream. Godspeed.
