Celebrate Darkchyld’s 15th Anniversary With Some Badass Collectibles

The gorgeous Ariel Chylde has been tempting comic book readers with her beauty for 15 years, and our friends at Image Comics and Diamond Select Toys are doing the celebration right with some all new Ariel for you to enjoy.
First, Diamond Select Toys’ Femme Fatales line announces the Darkchylde ‘Deadly Dreamer’ PVC statue of Ariel. Sculpted by Sam Greenwell and designed by Randy Queen, the figure measures over 11″ tall with the wingspan and carries an MSRP of $45.00.

Additionally, Image Comics also has a very special project to celebrate the anniversary with Dreams of Darkchylde Vol. 1, a collection with a forward by horror icon John Carpenter (slated to direct the film adaptation) and new cover art by Randy Queen.

Soon, Darkchylde fans new and old will be able to catch up with the accursed teen Ariel Chylde in Dreams of Darkchylde Vol.1 from Image Comics. The Dreams series is collected for the first time with new art and cover by Randy Queen and a special forward by legendary master of horror John Carpenter, who is on board to direct the film adaptation.
Ariel Chylde is a sweet-tempered girl with a terrifying secret: She can become the horrendous creatures from her many recurring nightmares. In Dreams of Darkchylde Vol. 1, we go deeper into the real world ghosts that haunt her psychological terrain, when a fallen childhood friend returns as an angry poltergeist seeking Ariel’s blood in a mad hunger for misguided revenge.
“2011 marks the 15th anniversary of Ariel Chylde,” says creator and artist Randy Queen. “So, it is with great joy this rare collection of Darkchylde material is made available for the first time in America with Image, and I’m thrilled to have John Carpenter’s words open the volume.
