One of the most impressive figure lines we’ve seen in quite some time, Sideshow’s “Court of the Dead” has just gotten even cooler with the release of two new motion comics that tell of the rise of both the Queen of the Court and the Red Death.

Queen of the Dead Premium Format Figure:
She is the first-born creation of Death, his Eve; the embodiment of his dark creative spirit, limitless guile, and soaring ambition. From high atop her spired tower, Gethsemoni, Queen of the Dead, oversees the realm of the Underworld before her.

As Death’s appointed Regent, she rules the Court of the Dead, a contentious assembly of beings of the netherworld that are driven by Death’s quest to Rise, Conquer, Rule!

The Red Death Premium Format Figure:
A wretched abomination, part mummified flesh and part tormented spirit, Avarkus, The Red Death drifts upon the celestial ether between the realms of the living and the dead. With an insatiable thirst for the avarice in men’s souls, he seeks out those corrupted by greed to claim as his own.

In his hand he holds a mask of gold, which represents the face of his life’s true desires, and on his back a rich and gruesome embroidered cloak imprisons the faces of those preeminent souls he has taken for Death’s designs. But perhaps most horrific of all, from the odious sack of innards that spill out of his vacuous abdomen, vengeful spirits become a celestial torch and pitchfork-wielding mob to exact a wicked justice for their host.

Having once lived a life of greed, now Death commands Avarkus to serve in the Court of the Dead and carry out his master plan – to Rise, Conquer, and Rule!
