These Ten Holiday Horror Enamel Pins are the Perfect Stocking Stuffers
The horror enamel pin community has absolutely exploded in popularity recently. Thanks to the selling power of Instagram and in-person vendor conventions coming back in a big way, artisans of all levels are creating some truly incredible designs. Halloween is still the peak season to sell your wares but DIY creators are also selling a ton of horror pins this Christmas.
Featuring iconic characters in the genre and clever twists on pop culture, horror pins are a terrific option for last minute gift ideas and stocking stuffers for the horror fan in your life. Pin them to your hat, add ’em to your battle vest or, if you’re like me, stick them all over your second hand jean jacket.
Here are ten of my favorite Horror Enamel Pins for the season of giving. For anyone new to collecting enamel pins, these are usually very limited runs by independent artists. So, grab them as fast as you can!
10. Lively Ghosts – Sticky Witch Frog Pin
Our friend’s over at Lively Ghosts have really become a one-stop shop for all things horror. Famous for their Coffin Pin Board that only drops four times a year (one for each season), they’ve carved out their own space for horror pin creations. For something that’s maybe a little more adult and designer-based, this exquisite Witch Frog pin has just been restocked over at Lively Ghosts HQ.
9. Blood Sugar Pin Company – The Scare Bear Collection!
Female owned and operated, Shelley over at Blood Sugar Pin Company makes these delectable horror care bears. Taking the multi-colored greeting card bears from the eighties and splattering their smiling faces with blood feels so wrong and, yet, so right. Taking their belly badge and replacing it with the face of Art the Clown or Sam from Trick ‘r Treat is a pure stroke of genius. Based in Florida, Shelley is taking orders now on her Etsy shop.
8. Pallbearer Press – Trash Pin and Suicide Pin
Texas artist Craig Halloway has been making horror merch for years now. His brand of clothing has become almost instantly recognizable to any horror fan with a closet full of long-sleeve graphic tees. But Pallbearer Press is also coming up with some killer pins. For Return of the Living Dead fans, these head-shaped pins of Trash and Suicide are must haves. I recently just picked up a couple of Trash pins myself.
If you’re in the Austin area, you may want to check out the new brick and mortar store in South Austin. They just had a great Christmas deal featuring your choice of three pins for just $25.
7. Forever Midnight – Sammi Curr TV Set Pin
The hosts over at the Forever Midnight podcast have also been making some truly eye-catching pieces over the last couple of years. The “Show Me” pin featuring the Christine logo is a personal favorite. However, anyone in your family who loves the rock horror fantasy Trick or Treat should be blown away when they pull this TV pin of Sammi Curr out of their stocking this year. Order it HERE!
6. Beezer – Elm Street Christmas Wreath Pin
I absolutely love my “Beautiful and Bad” Dream Warriors pin from small outfit Beezer featuring Jennifer Rubin as Taryn. Now, they’re back and so is Freddy with a Christmas themed pin just in time for the holidays. This should sell out fast! Get it HERE!
Natalie is the owner and represents one third of the team that makes up Beezer. She’s using the business to help teach her young daughters about business ethics and self-sustainability. These are all original designs influenced by 80’s and 90’s horror memorabilia and her girls come up with the ideas!
5. Dark Cult – Suspiria Volk Enamel Pin
The graphic designers at Dark Cult have continuously offered up great designs from classics like The Shining, Possession and Candyman. Taking on newer films lately like Parasite, this Suspiria dance pin from the 2018 Luca Guadagnino remake is easily one of their best designs yet. It looks even better in person. Head over to Instagram in the link below or order the Suspiria Volk Enamel Pin HERE.
4. Rat Knife – Black Christmas Blind Bags!
Rat Knife has a great pin collection going on right now that’s definitely rooted in the generous spirit of the holidays. They’re offering black christmas blind bags featuring a curated selection of mystery horror pins! Check out the Instagram link below or go straight to the source to peruse the collection HERE.
3. Saints ‘n’ Skulls – Ghostface Christmas Lights Pin
For Scream fans who can’t wait until the new film hits theaters on January 14, 2022, this Ghostface Christmas pin may help yule-tide you over. Saints ‘n’ Skulls is based out of Chicago and this design should help them get a few more fans over on their Instagram page. They have a great selection so feel free to check out some of the other pin designs they’re offering up. You can buy the limited run of the Ghostface Christmas pin HERE.
2. Amyers Pinzz – Astro Scream Pin
Need even more Scream in your life? This series from artist Amber Chavez of a space cadet Ghostface is up for pre-orders now. Amber is just getting started in the business, so these variants are pre-order only right now until she receives enough orders to go into production. They will NOT be ready for Christmas this year. If you’re already a collector and making your own Scream pin board, these pins are pretty essential. They will all be 4 inches in size, made of soft enamel with epoxy and glitter with a laser logo. There’s even a glow-in-the-dark Stab variant and a Milky Way variant that only comes with the complete set! Head over to the Amyers Pinzz Instagram or pre-order the Astro Scream Pin HERE.
1. Alleycat Graphics – Monster Squad Blue Variant Pin
Based in the UK, Alleycat Graphics, artist Jonathan Blasik is creating some fantastic designs out of his London homebase. This Blue Variant Pin of his Monster Squad series is a real standout and, given its size, it would definitely garner some attention when you’re out and about. Blasik doesn’t update his Instagram too often but is very easy to contact on the Alleycat Graphics website. Orders outside of the UK may take 5-20 days so contact info@alleycatgraphics.com to make sure it will get to you in time for Christmas!
