5 Intense Denzel Washington Thrillers Streaming On Netflix Right Now

This Thursday could use some more Denzel Washington. This is why we are happy Netflix is coming through with five thrillers starring the man of the hour. Let us dive into these action-packed gems and start the weekend early, shall we? 

2 Guns (2013)

This one sees Denzel playing half of an undercover duo trying to infiltrate a Mexican drug cartel. Things backfire, and they find themselves in hot water as the authorities turn on them. This cast includes Edward James Olmos, James Marsden, Fred Ward, and the late Bill Paxton. While some of us deem his co-star a bit of a red flag, the rest of the cast is pretty amazing.

American Gangster (2007)

Denzel Washington loves a thriller based on a true story, and we love to see him in one. This movie finds him playing the complicated figure known as Frank Lucas. A well-known drug dealer turned informant. Many fans claim this is arguably one of Washington’s best performances out of a career filled with highlights.

Flight (2012)

Our favorite actor decided to take it up several thousand notches in this thriller. He plays a heroic pilot that has a major secret. This movie is loosely inspired by a real event, which, again, seems to be the Denzel Washington summoning circle. We love that journey for him and will be hitting play today.

Inside Man (2006)

This movie is giving bank robbers, cat-and-mouse games, and high stakes. To round out this cast, we have Jodie Foster, Willem Dafoe, Clive Owen, Christopher Plummer, and Chiwetel Ejiofor. Also, the world becomes a better place every time Denzel Washington collaborates with Spike Lee. 

The Taking of Pelham 123 (2009)

Denzel Washington and John Travolta go head to head in this thriller about a hijacked train. Along for this anxiety-inducing ride is John Turturro, Luis Guzman, and the late James Gandolfini. This is the third film adaptation of the John Godey novel of the same name.
