MPAA Rates Hills Run Red, Mutant & More
Not a helluva lot of interesting “news” in here, but I thought it would warm the cockles of your collective heart, something desperately needed as temperatures continue to plummet on the East Coast, to know that some upcoming horror is, indeed, horrific.
The MPAA just announced a new slew of rating assignments, and included are the direct-to-DVD Dead in 3 Days, which will be out via Dimension Extreme on March 3rd, Danny Pang’s Forest of Death, which Image will put out on April 14th (pre-order), Warner Premier’s The Hills Run Red from Dead Hate the Living director Dave Parker (no release date yet) and Magnolia’s “>Mutant Chronicles (review), which hits DVD February 24th (pre-order). They’ve all been given a solid “R” for varying levels of gore, sexuality and drug use.
I find it really odd when I look at this list to see “teen smoking” as a reason for something (nothing on our list, thank the gods) to be smacked with a PG-13. Such a strange time in which we live, folks. Stay tuned for details on all the films mentioned as we learn them!
