Fox Makes a Devil of a Deal as Lucifer Heads to Series
Some late-breaking TV news has just arrived… Fox has given a series order to “Lucifer,” based on yet another comic book character. “Lucifer,” written by Tom Kapinos and directed by Len Wiseman for Warner Bros. TV, DC Comics, and Jerry Bruckheimer TV, stars Tom Ellis (Rush).
Per Deadline, Kapinos (“Californication”), who also had “Dead People” in the mix at The CW, was not very involved in the pilot, and the project is in the process of securing a showrunner. Kapinos and Wiseman (“Sleepy Hollow,” Underworld) will executive produce with Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman, and Ildy Modrovich.
Bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, Lucifer (Ellis) resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for the gorgeous, shimmering insanity of Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals. Ellis’ co-stars include Lauren German, Rachael Harris, DB Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Nicholas Gonzalez, and Scarlett Estevez.
