First Images from the Live Action Adaptation of Corpse Party
There ain’t no party like a Japanese corpse party, or so I’ve been told. Based on the video game of the same name, Corpse Party tells the story of several students who are trapped inside a haunted school. Mayhem promptly ensues, including a number of grisly deaths.
Just how grisly, you ask? The game, as well as the Corpse Party-inspired anime, is packed with an assortment of vicious deaths, including a blood-soaked eye removal and a squishy disembowelment. It’s not for the squeamish, which is just the way we like it. The game is also rather risque and frequently finds its female characters in bondage. Imagine that.
Here’s the film’s plot, according to AsianWiki.
On the last day of a high school festival, high school students are locked up at Tenjin Elementary School. A horrific murder took place there, and the school school is haunted.
Unfortunately, the first three pics from director Masafumi Yamada’s live-action adaptation don’t feature anything remotely sinister. However, given the source material’s penchant for gore, there’s a strong possibility that the finished product will have its fair share of the red stuff.
Corpse Party is presently scheduled for release in Japan on August 1, 2015. Chances are the flick will land Stateside in 2016. The aforementioned images reside below.
