Tony Goldwyn Joins James Gunn’s The Belko Experiment
Shooting begins next month on The Belko Experiment, written by James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy, Slither) and being directed by Greg McLean (Wolf Creek, Wolf Creek 2), and the cast is starting to fill out. So read on for the latest!
Per James Gunn’s Instagram, Tony Goldwyn has just been cast as Barry Norris, the C.O.O. of the titular Belko Corporation. Norris is a guy who is used to being in charge at the Belko Building in South America, so it isn’t easy for him to start taking orders when the office employees are mysteriously forced to either start killing each other or be killed.
Goldwyn joins the previously announced John Gallagher, Jr. (“The Newsroom”), who will be playing a character named Mike Pelk.
Gunn has described the film as the story of an American company in South America that is “mysteriously sealed off at the beginning of a workday, and its employees are ordered to kill each other or be killed themselves. This starts an escalation of violence, where we discover the true nature of each and every [Belko] employee.”
“I cannot tell you how passionate and excited I am about this project!” Gunn recently noted. “It’s a script I wrote a few years ago, for which I have always had a deep love. Believe it or not, it’s a film that first came to me in a dream, and I woke up and wrote the first draft in a two-week fugue state binge.”
James Gunn will also produce, alongside Peter Safran.
