David Lynch to Direct 18 New Episodes of Twin Peaks
After all of the behind-the-scenes drama involving the upcoming season of “Twin Peaks,” fans could certainly use some good news. Here you go: Not only has David Lynch worked out his problems with the folks at Showtime, the acclaimed filmmaker will reportedly direct a whopping 18 episodes of the next installment of the cult favorite. That’s definitely a cause for celebration.
If that’s not enough to get you insanely excited for the new episodes, then you should seriously consider this: According to Welcome to Twin Peaks, frequent Lynch collaborator Angelo Badalamenti will compose new music for Showtime’s “Twin Peaks” reboot.
Somewhere, the dwarf in the red suit is dancing a hypnotic jig.
Finally, to ensure that the new episodes feature the same unnerving atmosphere as the original run, Lynch and company will shoot the forthcoming season in North Bend and Snoqualmie, Washington. This includes transforming Twede’s Cafe into the Double R Diner once again.
The new episodes of “Twin Peaks,” which begin shooting this September, should arrive on Showtime next year. And as Agent Dale Cooper once said, “I have no idea where this will lead us, but I have a definite feeling it will be a place both wonderful and strange.”
