Jon Cor Joins ABC Family’s Shadowhunters
And the casting news for ABC Family’s upcoming “Shadowhunters” adaptation keeps coming! Today we’ve learned that, per The Wrap, Jon Cor (“Being Human,” The Exorcism of Molly Hartley, Saw 3D: The Final Chapter) will be playing the recurring role of Hodge Starkweather.
For those unfamiliar with the story, Hodge is the weapons trainer at the Shadowhunters New York Institute and a former Circle member.
Based on the best-selling young-adult fantasy book series The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare, “Shadowhunters” follows 18-year-old Clary (Katherine McNamara), who finds out on her birthday that she is not who she thinks she is but rather comes from a long line of Shadowhunters — human-angel hybrids who hunt down demons. When her mother, Jocelyn (Maxim Roy), is kidnapped, Clary is thrown into the world of demon hunting with mysterious Shadowhunter Jace (Dominic Sherwood) and her best friend, Simon (Alberto Rosende). Now living among faeries, warlocks, vampires, and werewolves, Clary begins a journey of self-discovery as she learns more about her past and what her future may hold. The cast also includes Emeraude Toubia, Isaiah Mustafa, Matthew Daddario, Harry Shum, Jr., and Alan Van Sprang in a recurring role.
“Shadowhunters” is produced by Constantin Film and executive produced by Ed Decter and McG. McG will also direct the first episode.
