Lynne Hansen’s Chomp Continues Its Festival Run This Summer
First-time director Lynne Hansen’s acclaimed zombie comedy Chomp is currently taking the festival circuit by storm. The 12-minute short tells the story of Millie, a woman who believes she has captured the world’s first zombie. Here’s the problem: The guy chained up in her home isn’t quite dead yet.
However, don’t let the “zombie comedy” label steer you in the wrong direction — this baby’s got a dark side. As such, the film has received its fair share of kudos during its festival run.
In addition to Susan O’Gara, Kyle Porter, and Ellah Durliat, the film also stars the always enjoyable Joel D. Wynkoop. The guy is a legend of no-budget horror, and — full disclosure — I’m a huge fan of his work. As such, Chomp has jumped several notches on my must-see list.
If you’re out doing the festival thing this summer, be sure to check out a few of the events where Chomp is presently slated to screen. FuMPFest (June 5), Dead in Decatur (June 11-12), Innovative Film Festival (June 14), Necon (July 16-19), Tampa Bay Comic Con (July 31-August 2) are all hosting the film this summer. Additionally, Chomp should screen at the FANtastic Horror Film Festival, which runs from October 30 until November 1, 2015. All dates are subject to change.
