Michael Myers Goes to Death Row in Halloween Returns
We learned earlier this year that a “recalibration” of the Halloween franchise is in the works, which seemed to be little more than a nice way of saying we’re in store for another reboot. Today we’ve got some more information about the film, including a title, so read on!
Movie Hole reports that Michael Myers will slash up the big screen once more in Halloween Returns, which they describe as a standalone film that will reintroduce audiences to Myers years after his initial rampage. Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton (Feast, The Collection) penned the screenplay.
Halloween Returns, they say, will pit a new group of Haddonfield youngsters against Myers. The now 18-year-old child of one of Myers’ victims plays a central role along with the child of a cop who’s long been obsessed with Myers’ case, even putting it before his own daughter.
Myers is now on death row and the two kids with their own personal vendettas against the killer sneak in to watch his execution. But when things go awry and Myers escapes, the pair, along with their friends, find themselves in the firing line.
It seems that casting is already under way, so expect more on this one real soon.
