The Great Wall Set Pics Reveal a Monstrous Severed Hand
Legendary Pictures’ The Great Wall, director Yimou Zhang’s tale about the mysteries surrounding the construction of the titular wall, is currently filming in China. Although we know that World War Z author Max Brooks helped create the story on which the flick is based, details are few and far between. However, a few recent set pics may have revealed what our heroes are up against.
According to the folks over at Asian Movie Pulse, The Great Wall suggests that the wall was constructed to protect mankind from some sort of otherworldly threat. However, it’s unclear if that threat is extraterrestrial, supernatural, or a mashup of the two. That said, the recent set pics reveal that this creature is big, green, and ugly. It’s probably pretty dangerous, as well.
However, all we really get is a severed hand — nothing more. Chances are the filmmakers will try to keep the film’s monster under wraps until they’re ready for an official unveiling. Or, alternatively, they could wait until the film debuts in theaters before giving us a proper look.
The Great Wall stars Matt Damon, Pedro Pascal, Willem Dafoe, Andy Lau, and Tian Jing. The flick is presently scheduled to arrive at some point next year. For more behind-the-scenes photos, swing by this website. The pics featuring the aforementioned monstrous hand reside below.
