Animated Film Extraordinary Tales Has Extraordinary Cast; Coming in October
News came out of AFM last year that Raul Garcia was working on an animated anthology film based on a handful of Edgar Allan Poe’s most iconic tales, and today we’ve got some more information along with a release date. So read on for all the goodies!
Comprised of five segments, and running 70-minutes long, Extraordinary Tales has been picked up for North American distribution by American company GKIDS. They’re planning a day-and-date release on October 30th, the film hitting theaters and VOD outlets one day prior to Halloween.
It’s quite a fitting release date, as the animated anthology features a voice cast of legendary horror icons that is sure to impress. The voices of Guillermo del Toro, Roger Corman, Julian Sands, Bela Lugosi, and the late Christopher Lee bring the film to life, and it was in fact one of the last things Lee did before passing away.
While we wait for a trailer, check out some tasty art below!
Synopsis:
Extraordinary Tales offers heart-pounding takes on The Tell-Tale Heart, The Pit and the Pendulum, The Fall of the House of Usher, The Facts in the Case of Mr. Valdemar, and The Masque of the Red Death, with animation inspired by sources as diverse as classic Hollywood black-and-white monster films, or the pulpy feel of EC Comics.
