Discovery’s Shark Week: Eli Roth, Billy Idol, and More; See the Full Schedule!
Discovery’s annual “Shark Week” is kicking off on Sunday, July 5th, and along with the usual “Sharksanity,” this year brings us Eli Roth hosting “Shark After Dark,” a theme song by Billy Idol (see a behind-the-scenes video below), and live shark cams to turn your computer screen into a truly killer aquarium.
People scored an exclusive promo video for Roth’s new gig as a late-night talk show host, which begins Monday, July 6th, at 11pm. He told them: “I’ve always been a huge fan of ‘Shark Week.'” When I was in New York City after college, there was a phone booth with the most incredible poster of a Great White from ‘Shark Week.’ I stole it and hung it my apartment because it was the coolest poster I had ever seen.”
He mentioned how the timing couldn’t be better: “Coincidentally, I’m working on a giant dinosaur shark movie called Meg that I’m going to be shooting for Warner Bros. for summer 2017. I thought, ‘What are the chances that I’m about to start prepping a massive shark movie, and I get to meet all the top experts in the world?’ It’s perfect.”
Here’s the full “Shark Week” schedule. You’ll find Billy’s video at the end. For more info visit Discovery.com.
