Paul Feig Outlines the Finer Points of the Ghostbusters Proton Pack
As a kid, I never put too much thought into how those nifty proton packs from Ghostbusters worked. Outside of the fact that the fellas were sporting unlicensed nuclear accelerators on their backs, the science behind the contraption escaped me. In fact, I hadn’t put too much thought into what goes into crafting a proton pack until director Paul Feig addressed the matter on Twitter.
For those who haven’t heard, Feig — who directed this summer’s box-office hit Spy — is set to direct an all-female version of Ghostbusters. While details about the flick are still few and far between, the filmmaker has done a fantastic job of teasing the project on social media. Feig previously gave us a look at the new jumpsuits, which, I must say, aren’t too different from the originals.
Backyard scientists, take note: Here are all the components that constitute a proton pack. Use this knowledge at your own risk. The aforementioned Ghostbusters reboot, which stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones, will begin haunting theaters on July 22, 2016.
