Crazy Talk: Eisner, Panabaker, and Mitchell Talk Other Projects (click for larger image)Nomad checked in from newfound horror hot spot Georgia with some interviews conducted on the set of The Crazies. Mind you, we can’t talk about that film yet, but director Breck Eisner and stars Radha Mitchell and Danielle Panabaker did chime in on some other horror related subjects.

First Eisner gave an update on the remake of Creature from the Black Lagoon which has been in development for two years:

“We turned in another script there,” says Eisner. “I think they’re probably going to see how The Wolfman does and then I think we’ll know from there. The creature design is done [and will be a] combo [of practical and CG effects]. Some of the movements of the Creature can’t be emulated by a guy in the suit. We’re all very excited.”

When asked if the new film would be in 3D like the original was, Eisner offered, “We weren’t before, but the landscape in the last year has changed. People have forgotten the original is; they’ll remember it once the next one comes out.”

Radha Mitchell was up next, and the press conversation at one point switched to the topic of a possible Silent Hill 2.

I think they’re kicking it around, but I don’t think Christophe [Gans, director of the original] is attached,” says Radha, “which is a shame. He’s a nutter but he’s so passionate about the game. I think he should do it if they do it again. I’m sure they will, but I’m not sure what incarnation it will be. I want to come back as a monster or some crazy creature!” If that turns out to be the case, we’re pretty sure that Radha will join the ranks of the few, the proud, the hot monsters.

Finally Friday the 13th redux star Danielle Panabaker offered up some details on what was supposed to happen to her character in the remake. “The idea was that my character got out onto the bus with Jared, Amanda and Derek,” says Panabaker. “They couldn’t get a location that worked. There was a real cute line about … I don’t know if I should use ‘cute’ to describe a ‘Friday the 13th’,” Danielle continues. “I said, ‘Maybe on our next date we’ll do something a little more romantic,’ then my character gets it after this big fight involving a fire extinguisher and all of this crazy stuff. When it came to actually shooting the bus scene, they decided I couldn’t be at the bus, so they had to come up with a death for me before those characters got to the bus.”

That was it as far as non-Crazies conversation. Next up Nomad’s headed to the set of Rob Zombie’s Halloween 2, so we’ll let ya know if anything interesting comes out of that one! Hell yeah!
