Fantasia 2015: New Trailer, Stills, and Artwork for The Demolisher
Gabriel Carrer’s The Demolisher is having its World Premiere at this year’s Fantasia Film Festival in Montreal on July 27th, and to celebrate, we have some new stills and posters plus a special trailer for the movie to share.
Latefox Pictures Inc. presents The Demolisher, starring Ry Barrett, Tianna Nori, and Jessica Vano. Gabriel Carrer wrote, directed, and produced. His co-producers are Barrett, Christian Burgess, Andrew Bussey, Duane Frey, and Martin Buzora. The score is composed by Glenn Nicholls (Future Funk Squad), a UK electronic artist who is responsible for remixing The Prodigy, Depeche Mode, and Nine Inch Nails singles.
This is Carrer’s fifth feature film and his follow-up to In the House of Flies (starring Henry Rollins). He describes The Demolisher as “a surreal and hyper-stylistic take on a relentless and emotionally wounded vigilante.” It is a slow burn, psychological thriller about a man’s slow descent into darkness and despair, shot in and around Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The film has many universal appeals and is very character-driven, focusing on the actor’s utilization of the frame.

Synopsis:
Bruce is a repairman tormented by a crippling sense of responsibility for his disabled wife, Samantha, an ex-policewoman. Bruce’s increasing hyper-sensitivity to the injustice suffered by his wife steers him down a dark path of vigilantism. His disintegrating mental health, paranoia, and overwhelming sense of doom cause Bruce to channel his rage towards a young woman. Both a character study and a psychological examination of trauma, The Demolisher is an unapologetic portrayal of what can happen when a fragile mind is pushed too far.
