First Look at Slash-Produced The Hell Within; Help Fund the Film
Iconic guitarist Slash dipped his toes into the horror pool with last year’s Nothing Left to Fear, which he produced, and this year he’s got another genre project in the works. It’s called The Hell Within, and now that the crowd-funding campaign has launched, we’ve got your first look today.
Written by Jeff Buhler (Midnight Meat Train), produced by Slash’s company SlashFiction, and set to be directed by Dennison Ramalho (ABC’s of Death), The Hell Within is being described as “Rosemary’s Baby in the jungle,” and you can check out a quick teaser below.
The film follows a woman from New York on a quest into the heart of the Brazilian jungle to save a missing girl, only to discover that the child was just the beginning.
When Marie and her husband, Dave, start receiving disturbing phone calls from Teresa, a young girl in Brazil pleading for help, Marie can’t shake the feeling these calls are connected to her charity. She convinces David to travel with her to Rio to locate the missing girl, and soon a series of strange events and a shocking suicide lead them into the heart of the jungle.
Marie and David find themselves isolated in Seringal, a village overrun with drug runners and lost souls, steeped in ritual and superstition. And as David falls ill to a mysterious disease, Marie begins to realize that the missing child was only the beginning of The Hell Within.
Casting is currently under way on the horror flick, and filming is set to begin in Chile and Colombia next January. That is, if the proper funds are raised by us fans. Head over to The Hell Within‘s FanBacked campaign to learn more and help out, and check out the poster art below.
