#SDCC15: Pacific Rim 2 Starts Shooting in November

We learned earlier this year that Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim 2 is tentatively set for an August 4th, 2017 release date, though we tend to not get excited about things like this until shooting dates are set in stone. As confirmed by del Toro, cameras are indeed getting ready to roll. Read on!

Per Yahoo, the visionary director is on hand at the San Diego Comic-Con this weekend, where he just revealed that the monster mash sequel is coming to life as we speak.

[Pacific Rim 2 is] starting shooting in November,” said del Toro. “We are deep into designing the robots, the kaijus…having fun planning the battles. We have an epic battle at the end of this that we started to design a couple of weeks ago. We’ve been up for about three or four months designing, and we start shooting in November.”

Legendary’s Pacific Rim 2 will be released in 3D.
