Ghostbusters: Dan Aykroyd’s Cameo Revealed
File this one under rumor for now as website Indie Revolver is reporting than Dan Aykroyd will have a role in Paul Feig’s new version of Ghostbusters, but it’s not as legendary co-founder Ray Stantz. Read on for SPOILERS regarding just who or what Aykroyd will be appearing as.
According to the site, Aykroyd will be playing a taxi cab driver who is hailed by Kristen Wiig. Upon seeing her, he yells out the iconic line, “I ain’t afraid of no ghosts!” before peeling away. Wiig, in frustration, yells back something similar to, “That’s a double negative! That means you ARE afraid of ghosts!”
Please god, let this be a rumor. It’s just an awful, terrible line.
Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones star as our new paranormal specialists with Chris Hemsworth manning their phones. Neil Casey, Andy Garcia, Cecily Strong, and Michael Kenneth Williams fill out the cast.

Wiig and McCarthy play a pair of unheralded authors who write a book positing that ghosts are real. Flash-forward a few years and Wiig lands a prestigious teaching position at Columbia U. Which is pretty sweet, until her book resurfaces and she is laughed out of academia.
Wiig reunites with McCarthy and the other two proton pack-packing phantom wranglers, and she gets some sweet revenge when ghosts invade Manhattan and she and her team have to save the world.
The Ghostbusters reboot will haunt the big screen on July 22, 2016.
