Badoet Proves Yet Again That Clowns are Horrifying

Scary clowns are hot commodities right now. Not only is the adaptation of Stephen King’s It back in motion, Tom Nagel and Jeff Miller are exploring troublemaking clowns in ClownTown and Art the Clown from All Hallow’s Eve is getting his very own spinoff. I’m sure others out there are working on like-minded endeavors, so expect to see a very saturated market in the coming months.

According to Film Pulse, director Awi Suryadi is prepping the release of his very own clown movie, an Indonesian production entitled Badoet. Plot details are vague, but the teaser includes kids, carnival rides going berserk, floating balloons, and, yes, a freaky clown who is seemingly up to no good. As you probably know, these are all essential ingredients to make a flick like this work.

And while it’s presently unclear when Awi Suryadi’s Badoet will make its way to other parts of the world, the teaser and poster are still worth investigating. Steady your nerves beforehand.
