Sharracuda Set to Terrorize Italy Next Year

The onslaught of shark-oriented horror movies isn’t letting up any time soon, it appears, so it’s probably best to accept the aquatic trend and ride it until the proverbial bubble eventually pops. In other words, you’re either really pumped about the upcoming Italian creature feature Sharracuda or you’re rolling your eyes as you relentlessly curse the movie gods.

Alan Mancuso, a man who apparently loves B-movies, Italian sleaze, and Euro trash, will reportedly make his directorial debut with Sharracuda. In other words, this one has the potential to be a bit nastier than your typical Syfy outing. Given that Mancuso counts Joe D’Amato among his favorite directors, fans should anticipate something altogether different.

The folks at CineArua Picture offer up the following synopsis:

A small coastal town is suddenly attacked by a giant mutated shark. Three young metalheads, an unusual priest, and a weird marine biologist decide to throw themselves in the pursuit of the
creature with heavy artillery, blessed weapons, and fierce fight. Is the monster an aberration caused by pollution, a government experiment, or is he the manifestation of Satan? Who cares: The hunt is on! An unusual shark movie, filled with a heavy soundtrack provided by some of the best underground death metal, hardcore, punk, doom, and stoner bands around the world.

Sharracuda will begin filming in Italy and the United Kingdom next year. Expect more info about the project to float to the surface as 2016 gets under way. To stay up-to-date with everything related to the flick, camp out on the official Facebook page or the official website.
