MPI Media to Distribute Future IFC Films
What with all the independent horror films IFC has been snapping up the rights to lately, they are quickly becoming one of the genre’s best friends.
Now, with MPI Media Group taking over DVD distribution rights from IFC‘s previous partner, Genius Products, it looks like that friendship is about to get a lot more close. Per an announcement in Home Media Magazine, the deal covers films from IFC in Theaters, which are available on VOD day-and-date with their theatrical releases, and IFC Festival Direct, which are VOD films from major film festivals.
Some of MPI’s recent releases include Ti West’s The House of the Devil and David Gregory’s Plague Town. Our brothers over at Bloody-Disgusting have learned that the first batch of MPI releases include The Wild Man of the Navidad, Fermat’s Room, Nightmare, and PVC-1
“[IFC is] a true force in independent cinema and an innovator in making film accessible via their diverse delivery platforms,” said MPI CEO Malik Ali. Amen, and great news indeed!
