“Women Underground” is a new Etheria Film Night event showcasing some of the strangest animated, surreal, experimental, violent, and wildly entertaining new movies that all happen to be directed by women. It’s happening this Friday, August 21st, at the Spielberg Theatre in Hollywood, CA, and you can see the full lineup of shorts right here.

It begins at 7:30 pm PT and will include the world premiere of the teaser trailer for Staci Layne Wilson’s upcoming Good Family Times feature film.

Co-presented by The Hollywood Underground Film Festival and Etheria Film Night, the first ever “Women Underground” is a low-key night of new underground films made by women. It promises awesome films that are way too wacky, gory, sick, crazy, strange, weird, twisted, odd, or insane to show at mainstream film festivals.

Click here to buy tickets. Learn more on Facebook and the Etheria Film Night website. The Spielberg Theatre is located in the Egyptian Theatre, 6712 Hollywood Blvd., Los Angeles, California 90028.

“Women Underground” Lineup:
Join the fantabulous filmmaker Rena Riffel as she presents a short clip from her new feature film ASTRID and introduces two hours of awesomely shocking, crazy, existential, weird new films directed by women. ASTRID tells the story of Astrid von Star (Riffel), a film critic fired by the Hollywood machine, who decides to fight back by shooting her own art film. After the clip from ASTRID, enjoy the following:

Ket tells Kim Part 2 of Oddity. Kim refreshes our goldfish brains on how it all shook out in part 1. So, let’s all sit back down and have a charcuterie with our terrifying Man ‘o’ Wood. All the girls can ask is “does anyone have the hook up on where they could find their own Woodm’n?
